Critical Shortage of Lethal Injection Drugs Led To Botched Execution - An attending doctor at the botched execution of an Oklahoma prisoner blamed the gruesome cause on the fact that not enough of the drugs had been delivered to cause death, and there was not enough left to allow another attempt. Kathleen is joined by a lawyer with the U.C. Berkeley School of Law's Death Penalty Clinic. She says prison officials in a number of states have recently engaged in an unseemly scramble to obtain new execution drugs, often from unreliable and even illegal sources due to the critical shortage of lethal injection drugs.
